The Gezhouba Water Control Project is located at the end of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River in Yichang City, Hubei Province, China, 38 kilometers upstream from the Three Gorges Hydropower Station. It is the first large-scale hydropower station on the Yangtze River and the largest low-head large-flow, run-off hydropower station in the world. Construction started in May 1971, suspended in December 1972, resumed in October 1974, and completed in December 1988. The dam type is a gate dam with a maximum height of 47 meters and a total storage capacity of 1.58 billion cubic meters. The total installed capacity is 2.715 million kilowatts, of which the Erjiang Hydropower Station is equipped with 2 units of 170,000 kilowatts and 5 units of 125,000 kilowatts; the Dajiang Hydropower Station is equipped with 14 units of 125,000 kilowatts. The average annual power generation is 14 billion kWh. The first 170,000 kilowatt unit was put into operation on July 30, 1981.
Gezhouba Hydropower Station is located in Yichang City, Hubei Province, 3km below Nanjin Pass at the exit of the Xiling Gorge of the Yangtze River. It is the first large-scale hydropower project built on the mainstream of the Yangtze River. It is the anti-regulation and shipping cascade of the Three Gorges Project.
The control basin area above the dam site is 1 million square kilometers, which is 55.5% of the total basin area of the Yangtze River. The annual average flow at the dam site is 14,300 cubic meters per second, and the average annual runoff is 451 billion cubic meters. For many years, the average sediment transport volume is 530 million tons, the average sediment content is 12 kg/m3, and 90% of the sediment is concentrated in the flood season.
The Gezhouba project has comprehensive benefits such as power generation and improvement of navigation channels. The installed capacity of the power station is 2.715 million kW. When operating alone, the guaranteed output is 768,000 kW, and the annual power generation is 15.7 billion kW·h. · H). The power station is integrated into the Central China Power Grid with 500kV and 220kV transmission lines, and transmits 1.2 million kW of electricity to Shanghai with a distance of 1,000km through 500kV DC transmission lines.
The backwater of the reservoir area is 110-180km, which has improved the shipping conditions of the Chuanjiang River. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 1.58 billion cubic meters. Due to shipping restrictions, there will be no flood regulation and peak reduction in the near future. After the completion of the Three Gorges Project, it can counter-regulate the uneven flow of the Three Gorges Project due to flood regulation and discharge, with a counter-regulating storage capacity of 85 million cubic meters.
The company started to use 4 sets of SRC-150SA (flow 19m³/min, pressure 0.85MPa, voltage 380V) air compressor from Shanghai Schneider Sunshine in 2015, which are mainly used for the power source of gate opening of hydropower station, instrument gas and pneumatic Tool gas.
